Tape Performance

ADVANTEK SFT™ is compatible with EIA Standards to support proper function in all machines and equipment designed according to same.

Advantek SFT™ is formed using high performance polycarbonate film yielding nominal

surface resistivity of 10E5 ohms/square at 12% relative humidity. Advantek SFT™ is compliant with industry requirements for ionic levels.

Pocket Features

Razor sharp radii help assure level device presentation and help prevent potential damaging mechanical interference. Near-vertical side-wall draft angles help prevent part migration as well as abrasion caused by contact with device edges.

Specially designed forming process yields:

• Pocket bottoms that are flat to provide horizontal device confinement and presentation to pick & place equipment
• Functional ‘T’ zones between pockets to contribute to proper device vertical confinement.
• Accurate pocket pitch, maintained within EIA guidelines, in support of high speed precision handling equipment

Product Format

Advantek SFT™ is available for applications requiring 8 and 12mm tape widths. Standard tape thickness is 0.25mm. Additional thicknesses are available to meet application-specific requirements.

Standard Applications

Advantek SFT™ is cleaned and packaged on recyclable single or level-wound corrugated paper reels up to 558mm (22”) diameter.

Clean Applications

For applications where Advantek SFT™ is to be populated in clean environments, the tape is cleaned and then packaged in a Class 10,000 clean room environment.

Splice-free tape is single wound on 330mm (13”) diameter molded plastic LOKREEL®s. The reels are then individually sealed in a static shielding bag. The shipping box is poly-lined for remedial protection from moisture and dust during shipping and storage.
