Typhoon Rammasun (Glenda): impact update

Valued customers,

Advantek Philippines resumed production around 8:30pm yesterday, July 17th.

Power from the Philippine National Power Grid has been restored to the business park.
As contingency, we have external generators operating on-site to power the production facility for a period of time in the event of grid instability.

Our other manufacturing facilities, being unaffected, are integrated to assist.

Your local sales representative will communicate directly with specific impacts.

Thank you for your support,

Wim Goossens

COO

Typhoon Rammasun (Glenda)

To our customers,

Many of you are concerned regarding the effect of Typhoon Rammasun (Glenda) on Advantek Philippines.

The path of Rammasun passed through the area to the south of greater Manila – where our plant is located – early morning the 16th.  Unfortunately, we have to report an interruption of power supply impacting production. Restoration is expected first half today – the 17th. About half of the business park where we are located is restored at this time.

Ports and airports are again operational. We anticipate neither a notable impact on deliveries, nor a major concern with incoming or outgoing logistics. In the course of business, we will provide updates directly to customers if impact is determined.

Furthermore, we are happy to report also that all our employees are safe and sound.

Sincerely,

Wim Goossens

Advantek is a worldwide leader in the manufacture and sale of carrier tape and has served the semiconductor industry for over 35 years. The Company has been actively investing to better address the fast changing semiconductor industry. With RFH’s acquisition in January of Accutech Plastics in Eau Claire, Wisconsin Advantek expanded its manufacturing footprint back into North America. The acquisition also provided an immediate entry into the LED, ‘wafer level die’, and passives markets through and offering of high precision micro pockets. Jay Longbottom, CEO of RFH stated, “Advantek is uniquely positioned to serve the semiconductor industry with its multiple manufacturing sites, considerable capacity, and high quality products. Robert Family Holdings believes in the high growth potential of Advantek and the semiconductor market and will continue to invest in this business.” Michael Miller added, “We see very high growth segments of the industry such as LED. But we also see the continuing miniaturization of parts as an industry challenge where Advantek can apply its engineered solutions. Advantek wants to be the most advanced supplier as well as continue to provide the best value products in the market. It is fantastic that RFH stands firmly with Advantek in achieving these goals.”

Typhoon Haiyan

To our customers,

Many of you may be concerned regarding the affect of Typhoon Haiyan on Advantek Philippines. Although the storm was devastating, the path was notably to the south of greater Manila – where our plant and employees are located.

We are very happy to report, first and foremost, that all our employees are safe and sound. Additionally we experienced no damage to our facility and have had no interruptions of electricity. We are running as normal.

Also, as the air/sea ports and roads servicing this area have not been impacted, we anticipate no concern with incoming or outgoing logistics. In the course of business, we will provide updates if any concerns arise.

As you probably have heard though, the impact to the areas affected to the south such as Tacloban, Cebu and Leyte is significant. If so inclined, please consider contribution to international aid efforts.

Sincerely,

Philippe Richez
