ADVANTEK ANNOUNCES NEW ORGANIZATION FOR FUTURE GROWTH
Messrs.’ Goossens and Miller to lead Advantek
Eden Prairie, Minn., July 7, 2014 – Advantek, Inc. announced that Philippe Richez has resigned as President of Advantek effective immediately. Advantek also announced the appointment of Wim Goossens as Chief Operating Officer and Michael Miller as Vice President of Sales & Marketing. Together Goossens and Miller will lead the global Advantek organization. Goossens will focus on Operations, Quality, Finance and Sustaining Engineering, and Miller will focus on Sales, Marketing, Business Development and Innovation. Advantek, Inc. continues to be wholly owned by Robert Family Holdings, Inc. RFH was established in 1946 and acquired Advantek in 1992. Since that time RFH has brought its strong financial support and global management expertise to help Advantek expand worldwide.
Wim Goossens has spent the last 6 months working with Advantek as a consultant for operational efficiency. Wim was most recently employed at Concentric AB, where he was Senior Vice President with responsibility for Europe and Asia. Prior to this, Wim held several senior positions at Haldex AB in operations, business development, finance, global aftermarket and distribution. Wim Goossens holds a business degree from the PHL in Hasselt (Belgium) and an MBA from the Herriot-Watt University in Edinburgh (UK).
Michael Miller has spent the last 11 years at Advantek leading the global Sales, Marketing and Business Development efforts. Before this he led the Global Systems Sales organization at CyberOptics (Nasdaq: CYBE). Michael holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from Marquette University and has completed various executive level business classes at the Universities of Chicago, Michigan and Minnesota.
Advantek is a worldwide leader in the manufacture and sale of carrier tape and has served the semiconductor industry for over 35 years. The Company has been actively investing to better address the fast changing semiconductor industry. With RFH’s acquisition in January of Accutech Plastics in Eau Claire, Wisconsin Advantek expanded its manufacturing footprint back into North America. The acquisition also provided an immediate entry into the LED, ‘wafer level die’, and passives markets through and offering of high precision micro pockets.
