Henry Ford established the first assembly line in 1913, revolutionizing
the process of manufacturing automobiles and forever changing the
face of industry. In the nearly 100 years since, many innovations
have improved the processes of manufacturing, including the idea of
singulating parts in order to present them to assembly equipment in
a uniform way. Another benefit is that parts remain free from contact
with each other which, for parts such as springs that tangle together
very easily, is a very good thing. |
